Technology Law, Cybersecurity and Regulatory Compliance (Law 25 and FINTRAC)
In the digital age, organizations operate in a constantly evolving technological environment. This explains why legal issues relating to data governance, privacy and cybersecurity have become key operational concerns, particularly in a context where artificial intelligence plays an increasingly important role.
It is in this complex and fascinating ecosystem that Jean-François has developed a business law practice primarily focused on information technology, privacy and risk management. He advises organizations on strengthening their security posture through audits, awareness training, governance measures, contract review, emergency planning and incident response.
A significant part of his practice is devoted to regulatory compliance, both with respect to privacy law (Law 25) and to obligations related to anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing (FINTRAC). He provides reporting entities with a comprehensive range of services, including compliance programs, biennial reviews, audits and accredited training.
Known for his pragmatic approach, Jean-François works closely with his clients to translate complex legal issues into simple, practical solutions aligned with their business objectives.
As a trainer and speaker, he is regularly called upon to address legal issues related to technology, cybersecurity and regulatory compliance.
Since 2022, Jean-François has served as founder and president of the Digital Circle. This Québec-based initiative seeks to support organizational success by bringing together diverse and complementary expertises in compliance, data governance and data protection.
A strong believer in community involvement, Jean-François proudly supports the Lung Association of Québec, an exceptional organization that has worked tirelessly for more than 100 years in the fight against respiratory diseases in service of the people of Québec.
